This is the first in a series of “Stylist Stories”, during which I will be showcasing a number of Study in Style graduates. Discovering their background, why they trained, the clients they loved to work with and their plans for the future.
Enjoy and be inspired….
Watch and listen to my conversation with Carol Hanson from Hitchin in Hertfordshire, as we discuss her passion for fashion. How she moved from her accountancy career to becoming a successful Personal Stylist focussing on sustainable fashion; via a stint working for a video games company!
Discover how her personal struggles with body image inspired her to help others feel comfortable in their own skin. Carol also shared her love of accessories and how this motivated her to create her own online programme.
During the call Carol explains the benefits of speaking and networking – she is a member of 4 groups. And she has calculated that 90% of her business actually comes directly or indirectly from networking.
Carol also describes how creating an online course has helped her develop a passive income and gain more clients. As a result, it has allowed her to share her love of accessories with a wider audience.
“I am a Personal Stylist who doesn’t like shopping!!“
Carol has become increasingly aware of the importance of sustainability. She has run online challenges around maintaining our clothes rather than continuing to consume. And she has been working with a variety of ethical brands. She will be re-branding her business very soon with the aim to raise awareness and help people to become sustainably stylish.
