Would you like to change career and become a Personal Stylist, Personal Shopper or Image Consultant?
Would you like to work with busy women, perhaps with children, who simply no longer have time to shop or just want a fresh look?
These are exactly the clients who Hayley Smith, a graduate of Study in Style Training, works with!
This blog celebrates the first of our mini interviews with graduates of Study in Style Training.
Hayley started her training with Study & Style in April 2014 and this is her story:
“After having my son I wanted to find an alternative career path from the legal career that I had previously been in. I wanted to do something that I enjoyed, was flexible and I could build into a successful business.
Whilst considering my options, I looked back at my profile from the firm I had been working with. One of the questions I was asked was, “What would you do if you were not a solicitor?” My answer was, “A Personal Shopper!”
That made me think, is this something I could do and was it viable as a business?
I did plenty of research and wanted to make sure that I trained with a reputable company. I found the Federation of Image Professionals International (FIPI) website and came across Study in Style Training.
One of the practical issues I had when looking for a trainer, was that they were all located hundreds of miles away from where I lived and with a six month old little boy, living away from home to retrain wasn’t viable.
Study in Style’s home study training therefore suited me perfectly!
Following an informative discussion with Gail on the phone regarding colour analysis systems, I signed up! I was thrilled when my box of training materials arrived and spent every opportunity I could between feeds and naps watching all the DVDs. I then started to practice my skills on everyone who would let me, an annual family get together was taken over by my drapes! I began to build a website and officially launched and started working with paying client’s in August 2014.”
Hayley now has a flourishing business, working with a variety of different clients.
In the last year she has collaborated with some amazing professionals to style two fashion shows, given talks at networking groups, held a workshop at Lincoln University, styled ladies for makeovers and has lots more in the pipeline.
Celebrating her first international enquiry this month Hayley has her new business nailed.
Hayley finished by saying, “Hearing about how confident my clients feel after a consultation is the best buzz and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to pursue this path”.
I hear this a lot and I couldn’t agree more. We are working with real people and can make an enormous difference to how they feel about themselves.
Just think this could be you!
