Laura McNeil, from Aberdeen, started training at home with Study in Style 18 months ago and in that time she has seen her business grow and grow. Here are a few snippets from her recent newsletter:
Reflecting back on 2014 its been an amazing journey, I’ve met and worked with some wonderful people and I look forward galvanising these relationships this year.
The run up to the festive period was a very busy time and it was great fun. I was featured in the Press and Journal’s beautiful Winter Edition Elegance magazine, in an article called ‘Give yourself the Gift of Style’. It all started with a photoshoot to get the right picture for the Festive Special. The photographer had loads of ideas for different poses and I was able to showcase beautiful outfits from Cruise in Aberdeen. Being in front of the camera was a very different proposition from styling other people for the spotlight!!
On December 7th I hosted Iona Crawford as she launched her Spring/Summer 2015 collection for the first time in Scotland. We invited women from across Aberdeenshire and Moray to join us at MacLeod House for a Stylish Sparkling Afternoon Tea and guests were treated to a fashion show of all Iona’s beautifully designed collection. We had a visit from
David@ Arbikie Vodka and he let us sample the delights of his new Scottish Vodka, a roaring success! Followed by a festive afternoon tea made by the talented chefs @Trump International.
I used items from Iona’s Autumn/Winter collection to show women how to wear Iona’s product on a day to day basis but also shared some style secrets, highlighting the top 12 items every women should have in her wardrobe.
I am very excited to be working with Business Women Scotland on their live event, “When Business Meets Style, in Aberdeen, on May 14th. I will be on the expert panel, ready to share my thoughts on dress in the work place. I will also be sharing how to build a capsule work wardrobe so that every work day is a stylish day.
Fantastic work Laura I hope all goes well in May!
